New Art Studio

I will post some photos soon i promise, it's just that I'm now about halfway through sorting out my lovely new art studio, i'm itching to get on with some creating, but i'm trying to be patient until everything is in it's place. It's amazing, i have so many shelves to house all my mixed media supplies, I have a painting table, a sewing table, an embellishing table, a drying table as well as a seating area with a sofa and a coffee table to sit and relax whilst reading through all my lovely art magazines. I have wireless internet so i can sit and surf the net there too. It's next to the bathroom so i have access to water for my paints and brushes. I've never had so much space before, i love it.

These are small pieces of leftover wood cut into tiles and painted. They were great fun to do and i have loads of wood left to create more.

A little bit of creating

It's turned out to be a pretty awful week this week with one thing and another so to calm myself i did a little creating. I thought i'd have a go at making a brooch, i love fabrics and have a fairly decent collection now, but am rubbish at sewing. This was the result, it's a 6cm x 6cm brooch, very nice, but a little too big. I thought it would make a nice bag charm too.I made this one slightly smaller: 4cm x 4cm, which is a better size for a brooch (sorry for the awful photo).

Then i thought i'd have a go at some more, these are not quite finished yet (again sorry for the awful photo).

New Window Display

Here's another look at my window display. I altered it over the two downstairs windows and moved most of the display to the kitchen window, mainly because the window kept getting lots of condensation on it from the fire in the room and the snow outside.

This is so everyone knows it's me:
It looks so nice, i've had lots of nice comments from people passing by and so many people have stopped to look.
